Esmond and his website are absolutely amazing and worth the value and beyond. Although I was anxious and not sure I would make it, the fact that the exam format was familiar made all the difference. His practice questions and exams prepared me for this exam. I recommend package E as I also got one-on-one sessions with Esmond and unlimited practice. Although some exam questions were vague, I remembered him emphasizing not to waste too much time and not to overthink any ambiguous questions! I certainly faced this for 10 questions of the 150 and just went with my gut feel for the best answer!

First… THANK YOU for all the hard work and painstaking effort you invested in putting this course together. It was very valuable – even if only from the standpoint of getting familiar with the format and kinds of questions that might be asked. I had a couple short-lived glitches with TopHat, but overall easy-peasy. I wish they would send a confirmation of receipt as it’s an uneasy feeling not having that to feel comfortable that they actually received my exam submission (other than the little window that pops up after you submit). There were a few questions from your practice exams that were VERY close to the actual questions in the exam (e.g., the man on the oil rig) which were pretty much freebies for those who purchased the packages that gave access to your practice exams. I feel the exam was easier or comparable to the your practice exams. They were pretty similar in nature, so maybe the actual exam seemed easier because your practice exams prepared me well?!
Note: there was not one “not” questions this year (e.g., “What would you not suggest this patient do…”).
Second… not a complaint, per se, but – as a grammar freak – I will let you know that there are quite a few spelling errors, sentence structure and informational inconsistencies throughout (a couple of which I’ve already sent to you under separate cover) that could cause confusion for people who are not as experienced in this field, so it may behoove you to do a thorough audit or have someone help you identify corrections you can make. It’ll probably be time to refresh your content soon, so it may be good timing for that.
Lastly, the exam wasn’t as ‘complex’ as I was expecting, so I overstudied a bit. The knowledge is helpful, regardless, so definitely not a loss. I finished with 80 minutes to spare… still had 45 minutes even after reviewing all my answers. I hope that’s a sign that I know my stuff and not that I bombed the exam!! I would pay for package D, again, in a heartbeat and absolutely plan on recommending your course to colleagues who are collecting their hours to write next year.
Now… we wait while keeping fingers and toes crossed!

Your course was so comprehensive, easy to follow, honest (chinese but not good at math-hahahaha!), and a great preparation tool for preparing for the CDE exam. Although this sitting was a bit weird with Covid pandemic. I have done on-line exams before, but not without the access to a paper and pencil. I had to show my whole room including ceiling and floor to prove I was not cheating. But I guess that is the new normal.

It was fine writing the exam remotely but I felt it was a bit ridiculous to have to wait the full 8 weeks for results when likely it could have been scored within a week. It adds such a high degree of stress that I don’t know if I will bother to write it again. 4 weeks should be the absolute maximum for an online exam in my opinion.

Practice examination package was really very helpful. I don’t know my result yet but your questions gave me good direction to read. I read only those topics that you included in package and I found all questions within those topics in actual exam. I had not enough time to read entire guideline. I read your three pathophysiology lectures. You used really very easy language to understand pathophysiology. Only suggestion for website improvement that I can give, If you can video record your lectures..!! I’m sure it will be more convenient and easy for exam candidates to understand concepts of diabetes management

I do however feel you are charging too little. I think you have put too much work in this and you are making yourself so accessible and eventually once you get everyones feedback, you should be charging more. I thought it was great! You did a lot of work and I found it very helpful. I know I am not ready for the exam and wanted a good guide to shape my studying in the final weeks and it did just that. I have written the Certified Tobacco Educator and Certified Respiratory Educator exams but it was 2 and 7 years ago respectively and it helped to understand the format of these questions.

I found the Practice Examination package extremely helpful. I bought both Package 1 and Package 2 . It helped to focus on what I needed to study and the Pathophysiology write ups were excellent. It was definitely worth the money.

I purchased both exams and they were extremely helpful in studying. Your pathology lessons were great. I found there were many questions on children in the exam. They used different food items on the exam. For example, one stick of a 2 stick Popsicle. I had studied the beyond the basics handout and i don’t recall that being an item.
Your best advice. Don’t stay changing your answers. I changed two and decided to leave hearing your words in my head. I’ve changed one to the wrong answer. I figured out on Sunday why my gut instinct was for another answer.
Your website was invaluable to my study process. If I do not pass, it will not have anything to do with the quality of your support. Thanks for all your hard work!!

Thank you for your email ,first thing I wanted to tell you is I passed the exam so I’m officially a CDE now. Thanks to you and your awesome course I passed. You wouldn’t imagine how those questions helped me. I’m that type of person who needs practice to learn. Your prep questions were amazing . A lot of questions in the exam were very similar to yours which I found hard to believe. You must be very experienced and you know exactly what you’re doing.
That was the first thing. Second thing is that now that I’m a CDE I need my information always up to date and I need to practice and do cases all the time to stay fresh. Do you have any suggestions ?
Third thing. I don’t get a chance at the pharmacy I currently work for to practice on diabetes that much so I was thinking to start looking for jobs that need a CDE. The problem is that here in Ontario most of those jobs they need a nurse not a pharmacist. Do you have any suggestions on which jobs they would be needing a pharmacist ? It’s really challenging.

Thank you Esmond ….I did pass.Thank the Lord! Hopefully this was my last renewal as I will be 65 when the current CDE expires. I wish we got more of an indicator as to how we did on the exam other than pass or fail.

As you can see in my signature line below, I passed the exam, and wanted to thank you for your site, and all the hard work that you put into it.
It was REALLY helpful, as I prepped for the exam – I wrote both practice exams twice, and doing so was a great way to get ready for the “real” exam.
In the end, I wrote under some fairly trying circumstances (a family death, 8 days before the exam and the funeral was before the exam. I also had the worst case of sinusitis of my life, with several nights of NO sleep… With all this going on, I think it was even more helpful to think there was a community of people across the country getting ready to write, together – and that was because of your site!
