I found that the actual exam this year was easier than your practice ones. As most people may know, the guideline is dry and long, hard to read through. Your study guide helped organizing and prioritizing the important points, much easier to follow. I did all the full quizzes several times, found my knowledge gap and focused on them when I was studying, very helpful. As a current CDE, I also find that your website is a great resource to use and improve my daily practice.

Esmond and his website are absolutely amazing and worth the value and beyond. Although I was anxious and not sure I would make   it, the fact that the exam format was familiar made all the difference.  His  practice questions and exams prepared me for this exam. I recommend package E as I also got one-on-one sessions with Esmond and unlimited practice. Although some exam questions were vague, I remembered him emphasizing not to waste too much time and not to overthink any ambiguous questions! I certainly faced this for 10 questions of the 150 and just went with my gut feel for the best answer!

Just wanted to say thanks again – really happy that I signed up for your study course. This was the worst time for studying for me EVER – COVID meant the hypertension study started late and overlapped with my CDE studying, and then COVID vaccinations started, and then I had two employees leave within two weeks of each other and was short staffed… Your exams were a lifesaver – REALLY well written and I think that is what really helped solidify my study efforts. Dear Esmond,
I just want let you know that I am officially one of you hundreds of students that PASSED then October 24th exam from the CDECB!
Your course was so comprehensive, easy to follow, honest (chinese but not good at math-hahahaha!), and a great preparation tool for preparing for the CDE exam. Although this sitting was a bit weird with Covid pandemic. I have done on-line exams before, but not without the access to a paper and pencil. I had to show my whole room including ceiling and floor to prove I was not cheating. But I guess that is the new normal.
I think you definitely deserve a new award for diabetes education since 2014. I would love to be able to teach with your confidence. I am being interviewed to work in an Diabetes centre and I will possibly volunteer at Diabetes Canada too. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Esmond,
I just wanted to drop a short note to let you know I passed the October 2020 CDE exam. I used your free quizzes and mock exams to test my readiness and determine my weak areas to shore up. I found it to be very useful and helped boost my confidence to face the exam.

Thank you for your email ,first thing I wanted to tell you is I passed the exam so I’m officially a CDE now. Thanks to you and your awesome course I passed. You wouldn’t imagine how those questions helped me. I’m that type of person who needs practice to learn. Your prep questions were amazing . A lot of questions in the exam were very similar to yours which I found hard to believe. You must be very experienced and you know exactly what you’re doing.
That was the first thing. Second thing is that now that I’m a CDE I need my information always up to date and I need to practice and do cases all the time to stay fresh. Do you have any suggestions ?
Third thing. I don’t get a chance at the pharmacy I currently work for to practice on diabetes that much so I was thinking to start looking for jobs that need a CDE. The problem is that here in Ontario most of those jobs they need a nurse not a pharmacist. Do you have any suggestions on which jobs they would be needing a pharmacist ? It’s really challenging.

Your website was extremely helpful. The exams were definitely worth the money. I have been a CDE since 2008- so this was my third re-certification. The exams were very high quality questions that showed me which areas I needed to improve. The explanations were very well done and helped me learn during the last week or so. I was very worried about the exam, as I had not had the same time to prepare but your website made the difference. I don’t know if I passed the exam or not but your practice exams made me comfortable writing the exam. I was panicking until I did the two practice exams.

Practice examination package was really very helpful. I don’t know my result yet but your questions gave me good direction to read. I read only those topics that you included in package and I found all questions within those topics in actual exam. I had not enough time to read entire guideline. I read your three pathophysiology lectures. You used really very easy language to understand pathophysiology. Only suggestion for website improvement that I can give, If you can video record your lectures..!! I’m sure it will be more convenient and easy for exam candidates to understand concepts of diabetes management

Firstly thank you so much for taking so much time to do this website and to make the quizes and the exam. This whole process has made me feel better going into the exam. I find i learn a lot better and retain more when im asked a question vs just memorizing something.
You seem so passionate about your job, (i totally get it so am i) to help out so many people. I’ve told some nurses writing the exam to do your study as well.
I do however feel you are charging too little. I think you have put too much work in this and you are making yourself so accessible and eventually once you get everyones feedback, you should be charging more. I don’t know of any other cde study resources out there esp this friendly and real! Im so glad you posted this on facebook otherwise i would have missed out on this amazing guide!

I thought it was great! You did a lot of work and I found it very helpful. I know I am not ready for the exam and wanted a good guide to shape my studying in the final weeks and it did just that. I have written the Certified Tobacco Educator and Certified Respiratory Educator exams but it was 2 and 7 years ago respectively and it helped to understand the format of these questions.
