I just want to say thank you for designing a very good study course. I think the exam went well. A few questions linger in my head as a bit mystifying but for the most part it went smoothly. I am not sure how I did as many of the questions seem to have 2 good answers. I was surprised how smoothly the set up went… on the computer. It was the part that was most daunting to me and not being able to have paper to write on. However, the white board was fine and there weren’t any calculations that I can recall. I will be 64 this December, it was a rewrite for me. The past years I have done less diabetes education. There have been a lot of changes in the guidelines etc. I really just want to say thanks. You must be very dedicated to helping people become educators to put that amount of effort into the program. Have a great weekend.

As I work solely with the pediatric population in my practice I have large gaps in my Type 2 knowledge including mediations and pathophysiology. The health authority I work for paid for the CDE exam and an online course. I personally paid for your course as I felt I did not have all the support/information I needed. I have no doubt that your course was responsible for my passing the exam. The “cheat sheets” were invaluable, the review of each individual CPG with notes was incredibly informative, the taped lectures were amazing and the practice exams were excellent. I did actually pass the exam and it was my first re-write (first CDE was 2015). Your website was absolutely instrumental in much success, so thank you so much!!!  Your time spent on it is so well spent and highly valued by desperate learners such as myself so please let your wife know and give yourself a huge Pat on the back!!
It was fine writing the exam remotely but I felt it was a bit ridiculous to have to wait the full 8 weeks for results when likely it could have been scored within a week. It adds such a high degree of stress that I don’t know if I will bother to write it again. 4 weeks should be the absolute maximum for an online exam in my opinion.

Yes, I found the practice exam very helpful. I’m just hoping that the actual CDE exam is similar in types of questions? This is the first time I am writing it, so I really don’t know what to expect. I purchased both exams and they were extremely helpful in studying. Your pathology lessons were great. I found there were many questions on children in the exam. They used different food items on the exam. For example, one stick of a 2 stick Popsicle. I had studied the beyond the basics handout and i don’t recall that being an item.
Your best advice. Don’t stay changing your answers. I changed two and decided to leave hearing your words in my head. I’ve changed one to the wrong answer. I figured out on Sunday why my gut instinct was for another answer.

Thank you Esmond ….I did pass.Thank the Lord! Hopefully this was my last renewal as I will be 65 when the current CDE expires. I wish we got more of an indicator as to how we did on the exam other than pass or fail.
I work full time in diabetes so have no problem keeping up to date and know what is going on with diabetes. Thanks for the help with the exam
